The Sole of Inspiration

Aiya!

Okay, you would not believe this for what inspired me to make this form of inspiration.

On the bus, I was sitting there, calmly writing, and then I realsied it was Thursday. I was meant to be starting my bloggingness again. (That was totally a word.) So, I asked about for Inspiration, and a shoe was thrown at me by a “Random Weirdo” (Her words not mine). Inspiration literally struck me. And then it struck me again.

And again.

And again.

And again.

Yep, five times. I was being attacked... by shoes.

I had no other choice. I had to devise a prompt about a shoe.

"A shoe? How is a shoe meant to help us rob one of the most secure places in the world?"
"You'll see. Just wait."

Well, anyone feeling as Inspired as I am? Or do I have to throw a shoe at you?

(Apologies guys for the lack of images! The computer thingamajig wasn't working and yeah. Maybe I'll fix it another time!)

#Voice of YA Tag

Aiya!

Wow, seems it has been quite a while since one of these thingies came up. And look! I’m doing it!

Okay, quick apology guys, I haven’t updated lately cos the computers are awful and not working. And even more so now. Hopefully, when school starts back up, I’ll be able to be a tad more regular.

As it is, I’m only able to make this post because I’m at my cousin (Jane’s) house, and am using one of their computers! Yay! So, without any further ado, may I present to you, the # Voices of YA Tag!!!

Screenshot 2017-07-04 at 5.07.57 PM.png

So yes. AGAIN, thanks to Jane, I am doing a tag. So, basically, she’s given me questions, and I have to answer them. And- *gasps* There are no rules… so, I don’t have to officially tag anyone! Yay! (I should seriously hunt down some bloggers, cos the only reason I don’t tag others is cos I know no one… meh!) So, here I go with these QUESTIONS!!!!

What draws you to YA?

Hm, well, I am a young adult, I guess. Although, technically I’m under 18, but hey! That still counts! I guess one of the main things that I enjoy about YA is that it is interesting. I do enjoy some adult books, mostly the non fiction or classical ones, and as for stuff for a younger audience… well, meh.

Describe your writing process. Do you like outlines and structure, or seeing where the story takes you?

My writing process? Oooh, wellllll…

I generally start by coming up with either a concept, a character, or a world, then I decide to make it into a story. This is often as far as my planning gets, but, every now and then it gets past the notebook and onto a spreadsheet…
Screenshot 2017-07-04 at 5.14.18 PM.png

I make character profiles.
Screenshot 2017-07-04 at 5.15.45 PM.png

I make character plots.
Screenshot 2017-07-04 at 5.16.05 PM.png

I come up with a rough outline of the story.
Screenshot 2017-07-04 at 5.16.49 PM.png

I then plot out each chapter.
Screenshot 2017-07-04 at 5.16.27 PM.png

Or, I wing it. That’s been one of the more common ones. xP

How long have you been writing? Where are you in your journey?

CHEAT!!! THAT’S 2 QUESTIONS!!! *Glares at Tag*

Erhm, anyways…

I reckon I would have started when I was about 7. I was writing a story about myself and two friends called the “Treacherous Trio” I have no recollection of what it was about, but I’m sure it was good. *Nods* Totally. I’ve been writing since then, getting better each time, and having ceremonial burnings of some of the more appalling works.

I am now doing MUCH better at writing, and thriving off Camp NaNo, if you aren’t doing Camp NaNo, you should start.

What do you need to write? Coffee? Music?

I need my imagination. I need hands. I need an idea. Music is good. Coffee is good. Chai tea is good. And some form of motivation is good. Oh, and every now and then a plot is helpful too.

If you could offer one piece of advice to another writer, (OTHER THAN "don't give up"), what would it be?

Um, “Be willing to totally ditch an idea and start on a new one. Oh, and please work on that touch typing! It’s so worth it in the end.” That’s good advice.

What book still has you reeling from its plot twist?

THE WARDEN AND THE WOLF KING!- Oh damn it, Jane beat me to it… um… *Scans bookshelf mentally* Well, probably that one still. And we’ll toss in the last book of A Series of Unfortunate Events, The End. It was totally unexpected. Which is saying something for such an insane series that one should be able to predict everything for. But that just threw me totally off, I mean, MY WHOLE VIEW OF THE SERIES IS A LIE!!!!!

What books are you most anticipating for this year?

Exiles, the next book of the Ilyon Chronicles. SOOO GOOD! (So far that is) I MUST READ THIS NEXT BOOK!!!!!!!!! WHO CARES THAT JANE HAS ALREADY SAID IT!!!

And, hmm, probably the 2nd book of the Kinsman Chronicles, which, I know is out, but I can’t seem to be able to get my hands on it yet.  AND I CAN HARDLY WAIT!!!

In your opinion, which YA book/series has the most unique premise?

Um, probably The out of Time Trilogy. THe concept is cool. Very cool. Like, Clocks, Radicles, allll that stuff. Very. Cool.

And, well, let’s go for The Picture of Dorian Gray. That was cool. Confusing, but cool.

What is your all-time favourite quote from YA?

Er, um, HELLO! YA INVOLVES MANY MANY BOOOOOOKS!!!!!!! ONE QUOTE!!???

Erhem, okay, probably… *sits here for an hour trying to decide* Um.. Well, this one is cool. From the Book Thief.
“A last note from your narrator
I am haunted by humans.”

Okay. That passes as cool. Yes? *Glares around to make sure no one disagrees.*

What book do you most hope will have a movie adaptation?

AUGH NO! NONONONONONO. Oh, like, a good and accurate movie adaption? One that has not been slaughtered? Okay then, weeeeell:

The Merlin Spiral. That was cool. And would be able to make a cool movie. Uh, 3 movies. : D

So, I reckon that passes as a blog post, who’da thought it? Well, I now offer this tag to you, dear reader of the Inspiration Blog. Take it if you wish. But don’t stress. Feel free to save it for that week you don’t have any post ready. Just answer the questions.

Enjoy!

Opening the Door to June

Aiya!

GUYS GUYS GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS JUNE!

It is cold.

In Australia, in the winter, one of the first things that I think of is our fireplace. Followed by mist. Lots of mist.

And, I decided that for this month I would do a themed story prompt thing. The title may give you a clue. Can you guess it?

Yup! That’s right! Opening the Door.

Screenshot 2017-06-07 at 2.48.02 PM.png
I came up with the brilliant idea of a theme in the middle of the night while I was lying in bed trying to think of a story prompt, but, instead I came up with a theme. So, that resulted with me on the bus frantically trying to think of something I could possible do a prompt on.

I continued stressing over this as I walked into school.

And then as I got on the bus to the Athletics Carnival.

And then it came to me. All of us were running around crazily in our red uniforms, and throwing things like javelins and shot-putts and all that fun stuff. Oh, and the gunshots to start the race. So, morbidly, this is what came to mind.

Screenshot 2017-06-07 at 2.47.52 PM.png

So, there is my inspiration for you. Anything instantly come to mind? (Hopefully not some sort of love poem for this one guys! : D)

Feel free to share your thoughts, or if you were inspired to write something.

Mountains of Inspiration... and Frozen Porridge

Aiya Eldar!

Ah, mountains are cool. These ones, particularly so.

Wow, another school excursion writing inspiration post? Seriously? Like, is school actually that interesting? I know, it’s crazy.

But then again, this isn’t school. This is Outdoor Ed. An epic subject at school for crazy people.

I mean, last year, we went caving, abseiling, kayaking and on a trek through the bush. So, why not, for year ten, go for a four day hike at Barrington Tops?

Screenshot 2017-05-27 at 6.34.56 PM.png

Our class, 21 of us, packed our bags, (tents, food, sleeping bag, sleeping roll and trangia included) and piled onto a minibus for the three hour trip to Barrington Tops. The ride was long, and loud, with the boys in the back singing out of key at the top of there lungs and a lot of laughter all round.

It resulted in a headache before we even started.

As the bus began to climb the mountains, we all fell quiet as we took in the amazing view. As far as we could see, green mountains surrounded us, speckled with cows and horses. It was beautiful.

After about 15 minutes of driving up the mountains, Katy, (a girl in our Outdoor Ed class) said, “The bus needs to stop, or there won’t any more mountains to climb.” After another 15 minutes we stopped.

There were still plenty of mountains to climb.

One of the lookouts in particular was unbelievable. At Carey’s Peak, we could look out as far as the beaches, which were so far away. The mountains were laid out before us like an ocean. I half wished that I could fly like the eagles there, and look out over the majesty and beauty forever. It was amazing.

Anyhow, we enjoyed our 4 day, 48 km hike, seeing brumbies, cooking food, camping, and other fun stuff.

Oh, and on our last morning, it was cold.

As in -10 degrees celsius.

Guys, that is cold.

Really cold.

I was cooking porridge… and trust me, when it’s that cold, there’s this new meal thing.

Ever considered frozen porridge?

Yup, it was cold.Everything had a layer of ice over it, and my hands were doing this weird thing where they turned a reddish-purple and swelled in size, almost double. It was unnerving.

But aside from the near frost-bite, the entire trip was amazing, and, as a bonus, we all survived! Only three casualties, one of which was me killing my knee. But nothing major.

Now, enough rambling. Here’s the prompt!

Screenshot 2017-05-27 at 8.34.28 PM.png

Personally, that one is giving me more ideas for a poem or song then it is for a story or character. What about you guys? Is it just me? Or do you feel that too?

Whater's in Your Imagination?

Aiya Eldar!

How’ve you guys been?

Schools teach us about random things in Geography.

Like water.

They also like taking us on excursions.

So we went to a water treatment plant.
Screenshot 2017-05-21 at 5.57.01 PM.png

When we got there, we noticed that there was a huge fence guarding the entrance to it, and our teacher had to speak into a cool control box thingy, then someone came, did a fingerprint scan and typed in a code and it opened the gate.

It was cool.

Really cool.

So, when we got back from our excursion, we were asked what we got out of the trip. I said that it gave me story inspiration. Cool coded gates to water treatment plants. Sooo, guess what the prompt is?

Screenshot 2017-05-21 at 7.39.20 PM.png

So, what do you make of that one? Maybe that sparked a few new ideas.

I hope so.

Feel free to share any ideas that came to you from this. Or anything really.

A Vow to Inspiration... I Hope

Aiya Eldar!

Hey Guys! Guess what? I’m back! And hopefully, this time to stay. I figured, most of my readers, *waves about* probably know me quite well. But I’m sure there are a few who don’t… so, anyway, I figured that I would let you into my mind, trying to decide on what I could possibly do as a regular blog post...

Screenshot 2017-05-01 at 8.34.23 PM.png

“So, all of you poor people who read my blog… I have decided, to once a gain, attempt to be a semi regular updater… I’ll work out when I will find time in my life to write this, but, hey! I’m sure I’ll work something out!

Okay, so, now you all know that ONCE AGAIN, Jessica Penrose has said she will update regularly. So, now for what on…

I mean, I could be my cousin and do a serial novel, buuut, I’m not Jane.

I could basically run my Wattpad account on blog, buuut, I have my Wattpad account for a reason.

I could update you all on the boringness of school life, buuut, that’s boring.

I could re-try poetry, buuut we all saw what that was like! *shudders*

Maybe a whole heap of book reviews? Meh, I don’t do tons of that…

So… I appear to be stumped… If you have suggestions, let me know! Comment below! Or email/speak to me!

*Light bulb* *headdesk* Okay, I so did not just forget what this blog is called.

Inspiration
This is a blog for Inspiration. The aim is to Inspire and be Inspired!

Well, I can be inspiring.”

Guys, welcome to the world of Inspiration! Here, I plan to overflow my ideas onto you, so that you can take things, use my music, pictures, quotes, and prompts to inspire amazing writing… or whatever else epic you’re into. It has to be epic though. *Nods* Stuff being epic is good. Oh, so’s Inspiring. Inspiring is very epic. VERY epic.

Because each of you has it in you to be Inspiring.

If only you are first Inspired.

So, I guess, after all of that, all 337 words of rambling, you would like to hear the first Item of Inspiration? Well… here we are…

Screenshot 2017-05-01 at 8.14.37 PM.png

Ah, so, what will you do with this? Get creative people! I hope it inspires!

Any instant inspiration? Please let me know!

The Photos to Match Go MAD... and Some Other Things...

Well... I figured as I have a photographer as a cousin, I should put up a few photos of the trip...
Here they are,
This is my AWESOME team and our translators.
These are some of the orphans that stole my heart.
Jet-lagged team in front of the orphanage.
The Wavy foundations we built on.

But this is not just a page of photos.
I want to be an encouragement to you all.

My heart was stolen by Myanmar, and in that, my faith grew. So much in this world is dissatisfying. Maybe, like the building that our team was working on at first. Why was that unfulfilling? Because we didn't have a firm foundation. It wasn't lining up.
We couldn't build it in such a way that it was perfect.

In our life, we need a firm foundation. What is our most often? Is it Jesus? If not, life will often seem unfulfilling.

Now, I will leave you lo with a poem, just cos that's what I do!

(By the way, thinking about literature, YOU GUYS SHOULD TOTALLY DO CAMP NANOWRIMO AT SOME POINT!!!!!!!!!!!)

Love Like a Forest

Look at the calm, forest glade,

The green light, filtering breeze,

The morning mist and haze,

The scent of the endless seas.

Yet when hope, in hope unlost,

And trust beyond all measures,

Is granted with but the cost,

Of wicked mean's pleasures.

But your love from above,

Is with no limits alike a forest,

And it descends like a dove,

My worries are now finished.

For to give hope and hope to gain,

Yes, life will never be the same.
