Mountains of Inspiration... and Frozen Porridge

Aiya Eldar!

Ah, mountains are cool. These ones, particularly so.

Wow, another school excursion writing inspiration post? Seriously? Like, is school actually that interesting? I know, it’s crazy.

But then again, this isn’t school. This is Outdoor Ed. An epic subject at school for crazy people.

I mean, last year, we went caving, abseiling, kayaking and on a trek through the bush. So, why not, for year ten, go for a four day hike at Barrington Tops?

Our class, 21 of us, packed our bags, (tents, food, sleeping bag, sleeping roll and trangia included) and piled onto a minibus for the three hour trip to Barrington Tops. The ride was long, and loud, with the boys in the back singing out of key at the top of there lungs and a lot of laughter all round.

It resulted in a headache before we even started.

As the bus began to climb the mountains, we all fell quiet as we took in the amazing view. As far as we could see, green mountains surrounded us, speckled with cows and horses. It was beautiful.

After about 15 minutes of driving up the mountains, Katy, (a girl in our Outdoor Ed class) said, “The bus needs to stop, or there won’t any more mountains to climb.” After another 15 minutes we stopped.

There were still plenty of mountains to climb.

One of the lookouts in particular was unbelievable. At Carey’s Peak, we could look out as far as the beaches, which were so far away. The mountains were laid out before us like an ocean. I half wished that I could fly like the eagles there, and look out over the majesty and beauty forever. It was amazing.

Anyhow, we enjoyed our 4 day, 48 km hike, seeing brumbies, cooking food, camping, and other fun stuff.

Oh, and on our last morning, it was cold.

As in -10 degrees celsius.

Guys, that is cold.

Really cold.

I was cooking porridge… and trust me, when it’s that cold, there’s this new meal thing.

Ever considered frozen porridge?

Yup, it was cold.Everything had a layer of ice over it, and my hands were doing this weird thing where they turned a reddish-purple and swelled in size, almost double. It was unnerving.

But aside from the near frost-bite, the entire trip was amazing, and, as a bonus, we all survived! Only three casualties, one of which was me killing my knee. But nothing major.

Now, enough rambling. Here’s the prompt!

Personally, that one is giving me more ideas for a poem or song then it is for a story or character. What about you guys? Is it just me? Or do you feel that too?

Whater's in Your Imagination?

Aiya Eldar!

How’ve you guys been?

Schools teach us about random things in Geography.

Like water.

They also like taking us on excursions.

So we went to a water treatment plant.

When we got there, we noticed that there was a huge fence guarding the entrance to it, and our teacher had to speak into a cool control box thingy, then someone came, did a fingerprint scan and typed in a code and it opened the gate.

It was cool.

Really cool.

So, when we got back from our excursion, we were asked what we got out of the trip. I said that it gave me story inspiration. Cool coded gates to water treatment plants. Sooo, guess what the prompt is?

So, what do you make of that one? Maybe that sparked a few new ideas.

I hope so.

Feel free to share any ideas that came to you from this. Or anything really.

A Vow to Inspiration... I Hope

Aiya Eldar!

Hey Guys! Guess what? I’m back! And hopefully, this time to stay. I figured, most of my readers, *waves about* probably know me quite well. But I’m sure there are a few who don’t… so, anyway, I figured that I would let you into my mind, trying to decide on what I could possibly do as a regular blog post...

Screenshot 2017-05-01 at 8.34.23 PM.png

“So, all of you poor people who read my blog… I have decided, to once a gain, attempt to be a semi regular updater… I’ll work out when I will find time in my life to write this, but, hey! I’m sure I’ll work something out!

Okay, so, now you all know that ONCE AGAIN, Jessica Penrose has said she will update regularly. So, now for what on…

I mean, I could be my cousin and do a serial novel, buuut, I’m not Jane.

I could basically run my Wattpad account on blog, buuut, I have my Wattpad account for a reason.

I could update you all on the boringness of school life, buuut, that’s boring.

I could re-try poetry, buuut we all saw what that was like! *shudders*

Maybe a whole heap of book reviews? Meh, I don’t do tons of that…

So… I appear to be stumped… If you have suggestions, let me know! Comment below! Or email/speak to me!

*Light bulb* *headdesk* Okay, I so did not just forget what this blog is called.

Inspiration
This is a blog for Inspiration. The aim is to Inspire and be Inspired!

Well, I can be inspiring.”

Guys, welcome to the world of Inspiration! Here, I plan to overflow my ideas onto you, so that you can take things, use my music, pictures, quotes, and prompts to inspire amazing writing… or whatever else epic you’re into. It has to be epic though. *Nods* Stuff being epic is good. Oh, so’s Inspiring. Inspiring is very epic. VERY epic.

Because each of you has it in you to be Inspiring.

If only you are first Inspired.

So, I guess, after all of that, all 337 words of rambling, you would like to hear the first Item of Inspiration? Well… here we are…

The Photos to Match Go MAD... and Some Other Things...

Well... I figured as I have a photographer as a cousin, I should put up a few photos of the trip...
Here they are,
This is my AWESOME team and our translators.
These are some of the orphans that stole my heart.
Jet-lagged team in front of the orphanage.
The Wavy foundations we built on.

But this is not just a page of photos.
I want to be an encouragement to you all.

My heart was stolen by Myanmar, and in that, my faith grew. So much in this world is dissatisfying. Maybe, like the building that our team was working on at first. Why was that unfulfilling? Because we didn't have a firm foundation. It wasn't lining up.
We couldn't build it in such a way that it was perfect.

In our life, we need a firm foundation. What is our most often? Is it Jesus? If not, life will often seem unfulfilling.

Now, I will leave you lo with a poem, just cos that's what I do!

(By the way, thinking about literature, YOU GUYS SHOULD TOTALLY DO CAMP NANOWRIMO AT SOME POINT!!!!!!!!!!!)

Love Like a Forest

Look at the calm, forest glade,

The green light, filtering breeze,

The morning mist and haze,

The scent of the endless seas.

Yet when hope, in hope unlost,

And trust beyond all measures,

Is granted with but the cost,

Of wicked mean's pleasures.

But your love from above,

Is with no limits alike a forest,

And it descends like a dove,

My worries are now finished.

For to give hope and hope to gain,

Yes, life will never be the same.
