Poem for a Not-So-Foolish Friend

Has anyone heard about Operation Christmas Child? It's an amazing organisation and I recommend looking into it . Click Here to find out more about them.

Anyway, awhile back I did a poem for a friend but, I've decided to change it. Well, here it is,

Miss Lucy

Miss Lucy is a friend of mine,
She lives in Gunnedah.
She has blue eyes and blond hair,
And has good manners.

Tis my friend, Miss Lucy,
She is a good friend.
Tis my friend, Miss Lucy,
A friend to the very end.

Miss Lucy, she doesn't bet,
And she's not Australian,
As of this she's no criminal,
For she comes from Britain.

Tis my friend, Miss Lucy,
She is a good friend.
Tis my friend, Miss Lucy,
A friend to the very end.

Miss Lucy, she's no criminal,
That's what I've heard tell.
She is tall, and reasonably young,
And has a good sense of smell.

Tis my friend, Miss Lucy,
She is a good friend.
Tis my friend, Miss Lucy,
A friend to the very end.

Miss Lucy is not the fighting type,
And often wears a jumper,
And unlike Halt, to cut her hair,
She goes to a hairdresser.

Tis my friend, Miss Lucy,
She is a good friend.
Tis my friend, Miss Lucy,
A friend to the very end.

A parody of Graybeard Halt

Normally I refer to 'Miss Lucy' just as Lucy, but, for the purpose of the poem, Miss Lucy she is!

  1. *Grins* you should have told me it was a parody at the beginning though, then I could have read the whole thing to the tune, which I do happen to know.

  2. That is actually a quite amusing parody. I only recognised the similarity when I read the bit, "That's what I've heard tell" before that I thought you were just talking complete rubbish!

I did a parody of this song, only it was about Ranger Will. :)
